Catherine Reed-Grant started her singing career when she was 10, singing with the Operation Push choir under the direction of Rev. Ronald Veils. Her family belonged to New Northside Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the junior choir. In her teen years she sang with the John Fortson Singers. She continued singing through her high school years wining numerous talent shows around the city. In her junior year of high school, she was selected into the Missouri All-State choir. Upon completion of high school she was a singer the local band, The Sounds of St. Louis. At the age of 18, she was hired as Minister of Music for St. Bridget of Erin church in the city. She is currently the assistant Minister of Music at St. Alphonsus Rock Church. She is also the Minister of Music for the 12 Liturgy at St. Rose Philippine Duchesne Church in Florissant MO. She is the music teacher at St. Louis Catholic Academy in north St. Louis. She has performed with several national artist including Kenny Rodgers and Richard Smallwood. She has been a clinician in many gospel workshops throughout the city. She has also been guest musician for several revivals throughout the country. She is a singer, composer as well as a playwright. She is happily married to Seri Oliver Grant and is the proud mother of Xantia, India, Kirina, and Sir John Grant. And is also the in St. Louis Mo. She is a graduate of Fontbonne University with a B.S. in Business Administration, and is currently completing her Masters of Business Administration at the same University. It is her life-long desire to write music based on the Word of God that will inspire all of those souls lost in worldly pleasures to turn back to God. Surrendered is a multi-denominational inter-faith based group who began it's ministry in 2001 under the anointed direction of Mrs. Catherine Reed-Grant, Assistant Minister of Music for St. Alphonsus Liquori 'Rock' Catholic Church. God has poured lyrics and arrangements into her spirit that are healing for the soul and an anointing that destroys yokes and provides hope to the hopeless. The group is comprised of fourteen members: Catherine Reed-Grant, Carolyn Yandell, Angela Brown-Meadors, Bridgett Stegall, Nicole Lester, Cynthia Miller, Sheree Sodipo, Victoria Thomas, Margaret Dye, Truenesia Combs, Adrienne Felton, John Reed, Maria Jackson, Wanda Hall and Larelle Kemp. Surrendered is committed to the calling of ministering; whether it be inside the four walls of the sanctuary or witnessing where God leads us to witness the good news in song.
