Safari's Song PROJECT DESCRIPTION Safari's Song is a written book, followed by a second book, Safari's Dream, a coloring book, music CD, music DVD and screenplay. There is a sequel currently in production, and two other books outlined. Throughout the book, our photography is juxtaposed with original illustrations. Safari's Songs as a CD: This CD features 15 songs of original music and lyrics. Some are funny, some are heartwarming ballads and two are torch songs. All are beautiful and honestly, the music stands on it's own. Friendship is a featured ingredient of this allegorical tale of adventure, comedy, original music, environmental awareness and travel. It is written with multi level appeal for children and adults of all social and economic backgrounds. This musical comedy tells of the trials and accomplishments of a moth who believes in herself and sets out to prove she is really a monarch butterfly. Her story promotes the qualities of rugged individualism and heroism within a charming framework of strong, entertaining characters, witty lyrics, and gentle humor. All work is copyrighted and owned by Catherine Owens-Herrmann. BACKGROUND Catherine Owens-Herrmann is a classically trained pianist. In addition to performing, she is actively engaged in her piano studio and DJ business. She is also the professional organist and choir director for a large local church. She speaks and understands Spanish, French, and German. She is a graduate of Vassar College and a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow. She is an accomplished equestrian and avid scuba diver. Cathy lived in the bayou country of Louisiana, where she did her postgraduate work at Louisiana State University and the New Orleans Institute for the Performing Arts. She and her husband Bill live in upstate New York on their hobby farm with their dog, cats and farm animals. Their family lives nearby.
