CARVELLI The Movement Italian-Canadian producer and MC Carvelli is out to fuse two of his primary passions, hiphop and his Italian heritage. And his single, 'The Movement,' serves as an irresistible anthem for that cause. Kindred spirits in Italy and the U.S. are working similar terrain, as Carvelli acknowledges. 'I consider myself one of the guys who has worked hard at this for a long time. Everyone's goal is to help each other get this sound into the mainstream.' With any justice, 'The Movement' will do just that. In the song, Carvelli integrates strummed mandolin, dramatic violin, and euro-dance style synths with bangin' hiphop beats and his own rhymes. The anthemic track is accompanied by a slick video featuring sophisticated gorgeous women sipping cocktails along with a sharp suited Carvelli holding court. This vibe exemplifies Carvelli's sound and image. 'Italians are famous for having the best fashion, the best exotic cars, great films, not to mention the wine,' he notes. 'For Italian hiphop, rap or pop to make it into the mainstream, it has to be classy too. I'm promoting my Italian heritage. That's my culture.' Carvelli is also all about stressing positivity in the music that helped him turn his own life around. 'Did I grow up rough and as a bit of a bad boy? Just like a lot of hiphoppers out there, I had my times, but I've straightened out. Hiphop has kept me moving forward.
