Originally born in Pontiac, Michigan, she started playing guitar when she was 12, writing songs when she was 13 and charming the hearts of her friends/fans in local coffee shops in the outskirts of the Detroit area at age 14. She laughs as she is in deep thought.... 'I remember my first 'real' show, even though all shows are 'real' shows' but this was at a bar packed with people not a coffee shop. 'I was fifteen and my Uncle Jeff's band was playing a show in a biker bar in Ferndale, Michigan and my uncle asked me if I would open up for him'. 'My family, my best friend Matt, and I showed up early to help them unload'. 'Time passed the audience grew bigger and before I knew it Matt and I were on stage playing and singing 'My Curse' by the Afghan Whigs'. 'It was the scariest feeling and the best thing that ever happened to me all in one'. 'I have played music non-stop ever since.' In 2001 she moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where she furthered her music career, playing in many project such as 'All Things Blue', 'Carrie Pietz and The Sunny Disposition', 'The Peggy Sues',and a couple other bands and recording projects. She has opened for some amazing artists such as BITCH, GOD-DES & SHE, Julie Neumark, and Rachael Sage. Carrie has partnered up with a close friend and started a musical revolutionary event at a local bar in Indianapolis called Metro Rising. It is hosted by Carrie and brings forth up and coming local musicians and artists in the area. She is all about helping people be seen and heard. 'It was tough to be taken seriously, when I told everybody in my life that I wanted to be a musician'. 'I could count on my left hand how many people believed in me and now I would be nothing without those people and my fans.' 'I would also be nothing without the other musicians who I have met along the way, that have helped me musically and spiritually grow'. 'It is amazing to have that connection and I wouldn't trade it for anything'. She has played in some of Indy's finest bars such as Radio Radio, The Metro, Birdy's, and Locals Only just to mention a few. She has also been involved in GIRLS ROCK CAMP Indianapolis and other local charity events. 'It is important to give back'. 'I know how hard it can get and we CAN'T do everything by ourselves, it is impossible'. You can find Carrie's new album 'Reckless Decisions' on amazon.com, CD baby,or itunes in the end of October 2010. It is a mix of original music written by Carrie in the form of blues, rock, folk, and a little bit of funk. It is definitely worth the purchase and I am very pleased to be one of the first people to have heard it. Here she teamed up with drummer - John Marque (JohnMarque.com), bass player - Eugene McGhee, cellist - Alex Efroymson, lead guitarist - Matt Lay and engineer Jake Belser @ Farm Fresh Studios in Bloomington Indiana. The accomplished exactly what they wanted to... Together they created a live, raw, beautiful masterpiece....
