We are a four-piece band (guitar, keyboards/vocals, bass, drums) from London, and we have been on the live circuit for over five years now. We are interested in making intelligent, emotive music regardless of current trends, and informed by an eclectic range of tastes - from acoustic lullabies right through to the hardest doomcore tekno. Generally, though, the sound could be described as epic, gothic-tinged rock. 'Unit 13' is a warehouse on an industrial estate near Hackney, London; for a year it was also our home. We moved there with dreams of building an all-in-one rehearsal/recording facility and living space for us and friends in other bands. It had it's drawbacks - the smell, the lack of hot water, the butchers who turned up next door at dawn every day - but it was a place where we could make as much noise as we wanted, and was therefore ideal. In the summer of 2001 we settled in and began to write an album, to be titled 'Unit 13' after our bizarre new home. Things went wrong - badly wrong. Two years later we finished this album in a converted cowshed in the Welsh mountains, surrounded by photographs and memories of the friends whom Fate had so cruelly taken from us. 'Unit 13' is a diary of the strangest time of our lives. It is funny, scary, weird and sad. We dedicate it fondly to Anno, Lee and Alberto KJD - 'To walk again together, and to mark / The tightrope between dark and dark.' ... And now? Now we are back in London, hungry for the next adventure ...
