Emerging with major hype, both on the streets via mixtapes, and performing live, Poughkeepsie, New York rapper, Cans is poised to take the next step towards becoming a household name in Hip Hop music. With the streets of Poughkeepsie already buzzing off the success of his popular mixtape series, Mission For A Million parts one through four, Cans and his production company (Tree City Partners) have completed his first full-length studio album, Real Poughkeepsie Soldier (R.P.S.). With production by Blacksmith Beats, Boogie Knights, VI, Billy Badd, and A.N.T. and features by fellow TCP members, D Johns and Brett Laffin, R.P.S. promises to deliver a refreshing new collection of songs inspired by the life experiences of Cans. With an impressive resume including collaborations with J Dilla and 9th wonder it's no surprise Cans has registered over 500,000 plays on MySpace and over 5,000 downloads on Datpiff.com. The most recent mixtape to drop entitled The Real Poughkeepsie Tapes hosted by DJ Curt Kre-z, has brought the anticipation of R.P.S. to an all time high. The first single off R.P.S., "Click 2 Click" produced by Blacksmith Beats, has been in heavy rotation on the Poughkeepsie based radio station, 96.1 KISS FM for a few months now. The song first appeared on "Kiss it or Diss it", the popular 96.1 KISS FM night show feature and was a winner by a landslide. Recently, Cans has performed at various Poughkeepsie venues including Club Ciboney, The Chance, and the Mid-Hudson Civic Center. With the success from these performances, Cans kicked off the first leg of his college tour October 23rd at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York followed by performances at Vassar College, and Marist College, respectively.
