Calabash Blues & Boogie Band The Calabash Blues & Boogie Band is a band from North Carolina steeped in the musical tradition of roots music. The band's guitar players are father and son , and the bassist and drummer are father and son, both sets carrying a long family musical tradition. Members include Coopdaddy Tee - vocal Big Mann Jay - drums The Catfish - guitar B3 Barry - organ/piano Papa John - bass, vocal Blind Dog Bubba - guitar The music is based largely on the Texas/Mississippi/Chicago blues of the 40's & 50''s, emulating such artists as Elmore James, Freddie King, Howlin' Wolf, Albert King, and B. B. King just to name a few. They also draw from more contemporary blues artists such as Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, and the Allman Brothers Band. It is a 6-member group consisting of 2 lead guitars, organ/piano, bass, drums, and lead vocalist. The track, Dust My Broom, from their debut CD Total Coverage Blues reached #26 on Professor John Hook's syndicated radio show, Rhythm & Beach Top 40 and also reached #6 on his Roadhouse Blues & Boogie Top 40.
