A little over 15 years ago, we moved our tiny family from Allen, Texas to Nashville, with the hope that somehow I'd be able to convince someone down on Music Row, that I deserved a record deal and a chance at the "big leagues" That was 1993. 10 years later, I found myself still without a record deal and my hopes almost gone. Then, God provided a "way". Anyone who knows much about me will tell you it took winning a record deal that very first season on "Nashville Star" to send my career into high gear and my life into turmoil! There were days when I didn't know which end was up and I missed so much precious time at home with my family. There were tough times and there were moments I will always treasure. Each of them served a purpose and helped to guide me to where I am today and I am forever grateful for them. Now, at the 15 year mark, I'm back in the position of not having a record deal, which is not necessarily a bad thing. I don't have someone standing over me telling me I can or can't record this song or that one, and that in itself is a blessing. I believe that this is the way it is supposed to be, at least for the time being. I also believe that God can and will provide a "way" again. He always has. Admittedly, this time is different...I've been blessed with thousands of loyal friends and fans all over the world and whether I have a record deal or not doesn't really matter to them. If you are reading this, I hope that you are one of them or soon will be. I believe that it is through folks like you and them, that God has already paved a new path for me. That is why I made this record. It has been 3 years since my last project, and I apologize for taking so long to get some new music out. Believe me, I wanted to do it sooner. At times, there were new record deals from major and not-so-major labels that seemed within our reach. Some of them we turned down, while in other situations, labels quietly "passed" on us. I had my heart broken on more than one occasion, and it took me a little while to decide to climb back on that horse and try to "ride" again. All of these factors combined became a 3 year gap. In the end, I had to make's decision: sit still and wait on another opportunity that in reality might never come, or forge ahead and take my chances. Thus, Diamond Dust Records was born and this collection, "Country Enough" is our first offering. It is a collection of some of my favorite songs that I have written/co-written over the last several years and something of which I am very proud. Thank you for purchasing this copy.
