Songs of Edification
Bryant K. Richardson, Sr. was born in Newark New Jersey to Eunice and the late Rev. Clarence Richardson. By the age of three after being taught some chords by his mother, she was not at all surprised when he began to play seriously. His parents knew very early that he had been given a gift for music. By the time Bryant was 12 he was playing full time at his father's church, Christian Temple, in Queens, New York. One of his first musical pieces was Gloria in Excelsis, after hearing the choir director play that particular piece of music Bryant immediately played the song with ease. After which, there was no turning back. Bryant is a 21 year veteran employee with the Newark Board of Education in New Jersey, where he has already touched the lives of many young people. He enjoys putting together workshops, and recordings so that today's youth will learn how to praise and worship God with no shame or reservation. A lot of Bryant's writing and music came from his personal experiences in life. He was 18 was his father passed away suddenly, and found himself leaning heavily on his faith in Jesus Christ. He had to encourage himself through the tough times, and he hopes that his music will do the same for people who are not only hurting, but who are still seeking a savior.
