The Thread is a 10 song collection of snapshots from the life of an Australian male. With all the usual issues of life, love and trying to make a quid in the music industry. It is a clearing of the back catalogue from 28 years of scraps of song writing. From the 18 year old just moving to the Big Smoke to make my mark on the world and promptly falling in love - right through to the somewhat more 'seasoned' muso jamming in my front room. The Thread was recorded in my home with one dodgy dynamic mic and one take in most incidences, but I couldn't resist the necessary amount of overdubs to inject the level of energy and angst that many of the songs require. There is nothing pretentious or overproduced about this work, just as I have endeavoured to avoid in my life. The title is a challenge to you the listener to try and trace The Thread of where and how the life around the songs might have gone. Enjoy! I certainly did!
