Brawton released his first single in 1976 with a band called Petrus. A couple of records later, the band split up and Brawton continued as a recording artist with a band called Kick. Their debut record peaked at no 37 on the Norwegian charts in 1981. Shortly after this, they split up as band members prioritised other things. Brawton's choice was to be a songwriter for other artists, and through the years more than 150 of his songs has been recorded in Norway, Sweden and Denmark, with a total sale of more than 1,5 million records. He has also recorded 3 albums for children (Harry Hopp & Petter Popp), released in 1995,1996 and 1997. In 1986 he founded the Norwegian music booking agency Artistguiden, which has been his career priority since then. Albeit successful in writing songs for other artists, Brawton could not resist the temptation of recording an album of his own, and in the end of 2000 the process of writing and recording 'Driftwood' began. Using a number of handpicked musicians, the songs developed into something Brawton was proud to present. The first single from the album, 'Run run run', was released December 2004, followed by 'Cool', 'With you' and most recently 'I'm so disappointed'. Brawton is happy with the airplay of these songs, and 'With you' even spent 7 weeks in a Norwegian chart-program on NRK (Norway's BBC) called Norsktoppen. The album, 'Driftwood' was due for release in June 2006 on Late Night Records and distributed by Universal Music Norway. Thanks to myspace, the record has got some international attention, with airplay in USA, and sales in Countries like Latvia, Germany, Hong Kong and naturally Norway. With his band 'Englebarna', Brawton will tour as much as he can. Brawton is called Braathen in Scandinavia, but to make pronunciation possible for the rest of the world, his international name will be Brawton. Brawton is represented with one of the songs from DRIFTWOOD - called The Game on a compilation record released in California in 2007 by 272 Records, called Acoustika vol 1. The music is very influenced by Beatles, 70s British poprock, Tom Petty etc.
