'Brandy Robinson is a breath of fresh air. Her music is as adventurous as her travel itinerary. Her music is all that and more with her self-described 'Funky-Folk Fusion'. Robinson is a definitly a talent to watch.' says Steve Morris music writer of the Boston Globe, Boston, MA. 2002 Coming from a background in the mountains of Tennessee and than moving to Hawaii at the age of 19, Brandy learned about social culture through experience. Owning the first hemp shop in Waikiki, Brandy began meeting pro surfers from around the area that inspired her to live the life she desired. Already accomplished on the guitar Brandy began writing about everyday life in her beautiful surroundings. Waking up every moring to surf and ending everday with a song around the campfire is what inspried Brandy to move back to the mainland to persue a career in music! 'Her travels have served her well - over the past several years, Robinson has grown more confident in both her performing and songwriting ability. Drawing on her experiences as a modern-day gypsy, she draws intricate portraits of people, places and emotions in her songs, interweaving them with a tapestry of acoustic guitar and her lilting, breathy vocals that turn them into sonic poetry.' Steve Wildsmith, The Daily Times, Knoxville, TN 2006 Brandy Robinson creates a style all her own with poetic lyrics, funky guitar riffs, and hip-hop scats. Her solo and full band shows bring a fresh sound to the stage. This is not the regular mold of a girl singer/songwriter. She is breaking barriers with her entergetic live shows and her 'Funky-Island' sound! Now as she moves all over the US touring, she is paving a path in the music business and doing it without the help of major backers Brandy owns her own record label, GuitarMama Records, and has released one album, Gypsy Queen, with her second, Beautiful Graffiti, to be released in the fall of 2006. She is serving it up southern-fried style and hopes you will join her for the ride.
