Her recent album, 'Cartography', is a beautiful blend of poetic ballads and political commentary masked as love songs. Brandy Gibb has a gifted flare for chronicling her physical, emotional and spiritual adventures through her songs. She commands an audience by virtue of her stories charmed by her intoxicating voice. Her style is a unique blend of rocking blues and poetic ballads. She has a voice that mesmerizes her audiences complimented by her intelligent lyricism that make them think. Brandy draws her audience into a discussion of love and politics that leaves them wide eyed and refreshed. Her earliest influences were music's quintessential story tellers including Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, Jim Croce, Joni Mitchell, Rickie Lee Jones and Van Morrison. By the time she was five she held bragging rights to knowing every lyric to every song on Cat Stevens' 'Tea for the Tillerman' album. Brandy credits Stevens' poetic lyrics and social consciousness as her earliest and greatest influence. In May 2004 Brandy started Fine Girl Records as a vehicle to promote her music. Currently, she is working with Stephen Lamorie as a dynamic duo entertaining cafe audiences around the Vancouver area.
