Dirty Legged Women & the Lucky Man
I was rapidly motoring down a long Texas highway heading for a gig in Arizona when I noticed a hitchhiker in the distance. I was about to speed on by until I saw he was carrying a guitar. I stopped and asked, \'Where are you headed?\' \'I\'m Bradley Scott Jones and I\'m headed for Lubbock, Texas,\' was the reply. We traveled along and talked about our musical experiences and a little bit about writing songs. I dropped him off in Amarillo and headed on my way. A few years later we ran into each other in a bar near Seattle. I grabbed a guitar out of my car and played Bradley a few songs I had written. After listening he said, \'I\'m not really into songs about food, animals or grapes and plums.\' He said, \'Let me play you a few songs I wrote. They\'re about my life.\' I listened. The next words out of my mouth were, \'I know where there\'s a studio. Let\'s go record.\' --Robert Dearborn.
