Product notities

'Tremulous, wailing Sleater Kinney-esque vocals, pounding drums, and a metal sensibility" -Seattle Weekly, 9-5-08 With haunting vocals, penetrating lyrics and angular musical backing Bone Cave Ballet submerges their audiences into the tidal force of tense and eruptive waters that Joseph Conrad could write sharks into. With their freshman release "Echo of Entropy", BCB has masterfully captured that musical experience while refusing to compromise a sound that is all their own...a sound which simultaneously contrasts and integrates the sweet and subtle, the eerie darkness and the rock hard. The Seattle band began as a reconnection between ex-band mates when following her solo release, '5 Handcreams for Sandy',vocalist/guitarist Jacqui Gilroy and fellow Detroit transplant drummer Kelly Mynes decided to rekindle the musical flame. In BCB, Jacqui Gilroy composes the sound skeletons; weaving the language, melody and pulses of the human experience from the womb to the tomb. This frame gets fleshed out by Mynes, bassist Chris Vena, lead guitarist Everett Sarono and backing vocalist Kristie Werner. After a few years of playing the Seattle circuit, they launched into a recording session in March 2009 at Bear Creek studios in Woodinville,WA. A preview of the March sessions will be released as an early summer EP, with the full length followup "The Echo of Entropy" in September 09'. Reviews: 'Foreboding, reverberating, slightly gothic with ominous lyrics. A bit like a cave, really.' Malia Makowicki, Seattle Weekly, June '09 'On the Artopia side, there's another 10 bands performing on two separate stages, most notably the melodic and mercurial musings of Bone Cave Ballet, a Seattle five-piece lead by singer/guitarist Jacqui Gilroy, whose voice can both coo and cut, often in the same song.' Shawn Telford, seattlepi.com, June 26th, 2009. 'Bone Cave Ballet, a Seattle five-piece with tremulous, wailing Sleater Kinney-esque vocals, pounding drums, and a metal sensibility (but metal at a slower tempo, as if it were trying to run, or shred, underwater) seemed to have a bevy of adoring fans, ... Out of everyone, they had the biggest audience for their set.' Sara Brickner, Reverb- Seattle Weekly, Sept. 5th, 2008. Thanksforthefanlove... 'I thought that Bone Cave, was amazing!!! The vocals gave me the chills- beautiful and haunting. They have a cool sound that is all their own. Great lyrics also!! I'm hooked!!' by Rachel 'Hell yeah! That bone cave show was the most original thing I've seen in a long time. Really interesting music that still completely hooks your feelings.' by Hoxen.
