Bobby Jay was born in Kansas City, and started singing in talent shows at the age of 4 years old. By the age of 14 Bobby had his own band called the Country Gentleman and played all through the Midwest. At the age of 19 Bobby joined the Sheriff's Department as a Trainee.At the age of 23 Bobby was drafted into the Army and took a leave of absence from the Sheriff's Department. He served (2) tours in Vietnam as a Helicopter Pilot. While in Vietnam Bobby also performed with the USO Tours entertaining the troops. After returning from Vietnam Bobby returned to the Sheriff's Department and continued his career until he retired in 1981. During this career Bobby continued to play & record music. His influences were mostly in Country & Rock & Roll. After retiring in 1981, Bobby moved to California and settled in the Los Angeles area. He pursued his career in music through writing and recording and currently has (3) CD's. This Standards, a Country Album and a Christmas Album which will also be offered online. Bobby is currently a producer and owns a recording studio in Fontana, California He is currently working on his next album as well as working with new artists around the Los Angeles area. Bobby's hobbies include golf, songwriting, and other business interests that he has developed.
