Bobby J. Carden was born to Bobby Lee & Joan Carden in Muskogee, Ok in 1964. he answered the call of ministry at the early age of 12 & at that time began traveling & singing with his mother Joan, sister Tracy and three other musicians - Bill Carr, Derrel Harris & Tony Cline. They saw the Lord move mightily through the salvation of many souls & multiple healings. Later, Bobby & sister Tracy 'cut their teeth' so to speak in ministry in southern California where they spent three months in the summer of '78. The group 'Sounds of Faith' later named 'Seed of Abraham', enjoyed ministering & performing on-stage along side such names as: The Florida Boys, Naomi & Segos, The Hemphills, Hopper Bros. & Connie, Hovie Lister & The Legendary Statesmen - just to name a few in the Southern Gospel field. In '82 Bobby's step-dad & founder of Seed of Abraham - Bill Carr was tragically killed in a car accident. Although the group came to an end, the ministry in Bobby (B.J.) was just beginning! He & his mother had began to hear a certain sound in '81 that was different than what they'd experienced in the past, in traditional churches. They heard LIFE!!! & boy was it refreshing!!! Bobby had written a few songs already, but from '82 to '85 - these 3 years especially, there was a tremendous outpouring of music from the Father through him. Many of those same songs are now considered by many, ' Kingdom Classics ' and included in local church's praise/worship repertoire. It would be nice to tell you the years were free from trial or difficulty, but that would be a lie. Bobby went through many years of being withdrawn from ministry. However, his story is not one of despair or tragedies, but rather that the gifts of God are without repentence & that God is Faithful to deliver to the uttermost!!! Jesus truly breaks every fetter!!! Bobby Carden has worked with many respected names in ministry all over this country & others. He considered the late Bishop Quander Wilson to be a Father in the Lord. He traveled extensively as a Psalmist & Prophet with other senior ministry throughout the early 80's & then began preaching his own meetings all across the country in about '84. that's the same year in which he made the self titled album: Bobby Carden - now called: ' Restoration ' featuring such songs as: The Restoration of The Church, He Alone Is My King, My Presence Shall Go With Thee, Joel's Army and many more...This album was recorded at the historic Castle Church Studio & Bill Patton Studio, both in Tulsa, Ok. Session players were the local musical 'who's who' of the time; Eddy Everett - Motivator/guitar/producer, Mike Barnes - keys/producer/bkg vox, Bill Patton - Engineer/guitar, Todd Homme - lead guitar, Jim DeLong - stix, Billy Estes - stix, Brett Teegarden - bass, Sue Barnes - bkg vox; just to name a few.
