Good News in the Badlands 2
Economics professor finds Jesus, quits job, becomes a singer/songwriter. Or maybe He found me. That's it in brief. The somewhat longer version is that I never 'decided' to take-up song writing, it just started - and I grabbed on with both hands. I could play a little guitar - (big guitars were beyond me), so there was little I could do with the songs. But then Tim Novoa and Eric Williams showed-up, liked the songs, and helped turn them on to what's now on the CD's. It took about eight years to write these songs, or maybe sixty-six years, depending on when you want to start the clock running. We've tried to give each song it's own individual musical touch. There were a lot of them, so I've split them into three volumes. This is volume 2. I hope they speak to you as they do to me. We've picked-up a good pre-release review from novelist/screenwriter William Mickelberry. Here it is, in part: 'I guess you've heard this and realize how amazing it is. ...Eric's arrangements are musical without being ornate... The Lyrics and phrasing are poetic, and I don't always use that term about lyrics. Perfect voice - - who is this guy? I can't believe the outflow of so many good songs. Everyone involved seems to be on the same page. There's a unified sound and feeling to the project. In sum, I was pretty knocked out by it all...'
