Product notities

"Ancient Freedom Songs" is the name of Blue Umbrella's debut album. The words and music were written on singer/songwriter Bailey's ten-metre yacht at Rottnest Island, twenty kilometres off the west coast of Australia. With the help of co producer and long time collaborator, Murray Campbell, the band Blue Umbrella was formed. Rehearsing and recording at Campbell's Beatworld Studio in seaside Cottesloe, the band soon compiled thirty songs and began performing at local venues. After a series of gigs with bassist Roy Martinez, the band entered Satellite Studios and laid down twenty-four of Bailey's songs. Ten songs were chosen and became the debut album "Ancient Freedom Songs". Bailey's evocative poetry and vocals were perfectly balanced by generous guitar harmony, Tony Borthwick's haunting saxophone, and the funky bass and drums of Martinez and Campbell. Engineer, producer and percussionist, Murray Campbell, mixed and mastered the recording at Beatworld in Cottesloe. The result is a unique, original collection of contemporary songs from the antipodes.
