'Blue Ceiling' is this New York City-based band's debut album. They have been playing the NYC club circuit since late 1999. Blue Ceiling: who the hell do they think they are? Rene Collins (lead vocals and rhythm guitar; songwriter) is an accomplished singer and songwriter with previous experience in jazz and rock bands on the West Coast. He is an all-around Renaissance dude whose varied performance background also includes stints as a circus acrobat, dancer, performance artist, and actor. Other interests include the martial arts, mysticism, healing, the tarot, writing, and quantum physics. In other words, he knows all about the black hole inside your soul! Eric Justice (lead and rhythm guitar; songwriter) has been playing guitar since age 12 and has written and recorded over 50 of his own songs-a small portion of which he hopes to offer for public consumption through the medium of Blue Ceiling. He strives always to be kind to small animals, but hey, sometimes they just plain piss him off... Eric Mauriello (bass guitar and backing vocals) plays a mean bass, pairing with his simian sibling, drummer Phil Bloom (see below) to form 'The Monkey Brothers' (aka 'New York City's Hardest Working Rhythm Section'). Eric is currently serving as producer/engineer for Blue Ceiling, which means that all of our recordings have way too much bass. Phil Bloom (drums) has been playing and teaching drums in New York City for the past 12 years. His broad-ranging percussive skills are the driving force behind Blue Ceiling's many rhythmic colors and textures. Phil is also an avid amateur astronomer and voyeur and has a very large telescope. His favorite expression: 'On a clear day you can see Uranus.'
