Such Beautiful Lies
'Such Beautiful Lies', is the culmination of wonderful consequences inspired by a little girl who drifted into my life unexpectedly. My 'new life' began by writing childrens books and poems based on bedtime stories I had created for her. Poems are songs, are they not! The bond we share resulted in the composition of my first song, 'Ballad of Lanxing', which I intend to record soon. Emboldened by this experience, other songs quickly followed and I soon realised that possibly, so late in my life, I could reinvent myself as a songwriter and write songs for established and emerging artists. However, for someone not connected to the music industry and therefore unable to network, it was soon apparent that a connection would not be an easy task. Fortunately, I had taken the decision to record my songs professionally. Whilst it remains my ultimate desire for other artists to record them, in releasing them independently I hope to create an awareness of my work ... a work in progress! Personally, I have always preferred CD compilations, so having the freedom to write and record songs for male and female vocalists, I have been able to use a compilation of voices on this CD making it a are more enjoyable listening experience. The first track, 'Moody Moments', is the first song I recorded and all following songs are in order of creation. I have attempted to cover several genres and moods; ballads, blues, honkytonk, country and contemporary songs. I have also utilized recorded sounds into my work, such as 'wind' in 'Desert Breeze', and a 'crackling fire', 'dog bark' and an 'owl' in 'Mulga Wood'. Three songs have a special place in my heart! 'Mama-san' was composed as the theme song for a beautiful short movie I have written and hope one day to produce, 'Santa Claus', written on Xmas Eve 2006 and based on the actual words uttered by my 'little friend' as I tucked her into bed, and 'My Sweet Sydney Town', my hometown, surely the most beautiful city in the world! I know you will enjoy, 'Such Beautiful Lies'. Written from the heart, it was conceived through love, and offered to you in faith! Stuart Parnell Hall.
