Lift It Up
Produced by Todd Howard and Mixed by Don Gunn, this new single reveals an evolving songwriting and production style for Bonnell. A heavier power-folk approach on this track demonstrates the songwriter's interest in bending genre and style, as well as explore a more layered production. Howard's bass and guitar playing, as well as Gunn's drumming bring a solid rock energy to the track, and Howard also lends his harmony vocals to the layered arrangement. Bill Bonnell's new single 'Lift It Up' is backed by 'America (Where'd You Go)', a stripped down call to awareness in the clothing of a 'political love song'. Ally LaRoche (up and coming Froggy Hollow Records recording artist, whose first album 'Behind The Couch' is slated for release in early 2011) provides the duet vocal part on this track. A fan favorite from Bonnell's first release 'Saved By The Rain' the strummy classic 70's folk style ballad rounds out this single package in a poignant and understated way. The two sides of Bill Bonnell are generously encapsulated on the 'Lift It Up' CD single.
