"Musicians" is the first record by Chicago group Big Dammit. The songs on the record represent a ten year back-catalog of "the other guy's songs" from bands in which Big Dammit's members played second fiddle. Styles on the record vary from white-boy latin rock ("Tiger Mt Rd"), Saturday Night Live outro rip-off ("Parliament"), and stereotypical mid-tempo "indie rock" ("The Something Monarch"). The straight-forward and sometimes verbose lyrics address such pressing topics as fortune-telling dolphins ("Nemo"), one's first experience with having the wind knocked out of them ("The First Waltz"), and the sad fate of sovereign nations that just can't keep it together ("Ex-Country"). It's certainly not the worst album you'll ever hear!
