Last Dead Afternoon
Straw Rabbit Records present Bellylaugh, a non touring, slightly reclusive, writer of songs. The songs on the Last Dead Afternoon album were recorded after many years of trudging around doing regular work but wishing for something else. The album was produced in an unusual way when Bellylaugh dropped a pencil on a map and it landed on Bulgaria. A flight to Sofia resulted in a meeting with a small studio comprising two sites. One in an underground shelter with metal submarine type doors. The other in the basement of an artist's studio. The songs were all in his head and the musicians brought in from the local area were superbly professional in helping to change them from the guitar vocal format of the bedroom songwriter, into fully fledged records. The reviews did not need to be made up or exaggerated. They are an honest and praising assessment of a unique character and his songs. Proper love, from Straw Rabbit Records.
