Bel Air, a five-piece Americana band based in Brooklyn, are pleased to announce the release of their second full-length album entitled, Fortuna. Recorded over four days at Cowboy Technical Services in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the new album features fuller arrangements and a more "live" feel than previous albums. The band's first album, 2008's Pole to Pole was recorded primarily as a trio but with the addition of a full time rhythm section they have broadened their sound and reached new heights with Fortuna. The band may be rooted in classic American music but varied influences (British folk, 90's indie rock, classic country, 60's pop) and multiple songwriters move the band beyond a simple Americana classification into a world of their own. From Alt-Country Forum: Playing with the enormous possibilities found at the interface of folk rock, indie and country, they create a world where nothing seems impossible. Mood and emotion are central to the songs, with a big role given to vocal harmonies.. 'Fortuna' is a beautiful and diverse album. Bel Air is - Allison Langerak (vocals, harmonica, keys), Jeff Mensch (vocals, guitars), Wyatt Tuzo (lap steel, guitars, vocals), Turner Stough (bass guitar), Eric Kuby (drums and percussion).
