Bonny at Morn
For nearly a decade, Barbary's music has touched the hearts of audiences throughout California. Her Irish harp and crystal-clear voice conjure a world of aching beauty. The old Celtic songs she sings pierce our hearts and lift our spirits above the tired and ordinary into a realm of heightened sensation and romance. Barbary's classical upbringing shines through her arrangements of traditional songs. Over the rich colors of her harp she weaves a tapestry of uilleann pipes, flute, fiddle, concertina, cello, and bodhran (Irish drum). Above this sparkling backdrop soar the old melodies, sung in a voice so lovely it transports us to ancient Celtic landscapes. The language of the Gaels envelopes the listener in rich folds of history. Bonny at Morn features songs in all three of the Gaelic languages: Irish, Scots Gaelic, and Manx. There are songs in English too. Songs of love and longing. Bonny at Morn is best served with wine and candlelight.
