In the spring of 2009, A Bad Idea got the opportunity to have about 24 hours recording in a wonderful studio in Zionsville, Indiana. They took it upon themselves to record a full-length album in that time. After fueling up at Wendy's, they started at around 5 P.M. on a Saturday. The studio had separate recording booths and so the band and producer decided to record all of the songs with the band members playing simultaneously. It was a decision based on the fact that the CD would then sound more personal and more energetic with the players being able to play off each other. After the first three songs (instrumentally) were set, and many hours had flown by, they took a small break and found themselves roaming around the studio. As if by divine intervention, they happened upon a magical room full of candy and snacks. They feasted on the contents of this room for the remainder of there time at the studio. Upon returning to recording, hopped up on sugar, the members of the band, sans Nathan, decided to make some memories and record a track in the nude (thank goodness for those separate recording booths). So after Sexygurl266 was recorded in the buff, they finished a couple more songs and found that they were exhausted. So around 4 in the morning, they all found a couch somewhere in the studio, and took a nap. The nap did not last long and at 7 in the morning (7:30 for James, as you would expect for a drummer) they awoke and irritably walked back into the recording booths to finish the remaining songs. After all the instrumental tracks were recorded, it was time for vocals. So after Nathan bought his standard bottles of Dr. Pepper to help him sing better, the vocal tracks were recorded. Austin had rolled in at 8 that morning and after they layed down his trumpet tracks, the songs were complete and left in the hands of Matt Vice to work his magic.
