Azure Cross is a band on a mission. It's a simple one; make good music with a message. Write lyrics that move people, let them know there's a common experience we all share. Write a few that tell about where we've all gone wrong, even if you're writing them to yourself... even if it hurts. Write a few for the sheer fun of it all. But do it with sincerity, conviction and faith. Do it all with a ripping good guitar riff and a smoking rhythm section. A lot of bands defy categorization; at some point, an artist must choose to join the bandwagon, or be the bandwagon. Welcome to the Azure Cross experience. It's all about innovation, not imitation. Pete Lampron is a singer, songwriter and guitarist with a few miles under his wheels. He's shared the stage with national and regional acts such as Roomful of Blues, Warner Bros. Recording artist Hank Decken and Southside Johnny alumni Joel Cage. Pete recorded songs for Wild Oats Records in Nashville, working with top session players such as hit songwriter Waler Egan (Magnet and Steel), and studied his craft in L.A. with hit songwriters. His songs have sold overseas in Germany, England, France, Portugal and other countries, and he's played gigs from the seacoast of NH to the Commodore Grille in Nashville, TN. Often compared to Eric Clapton, Pete's blazing guitar shifts from subtle, heartfelt acoustic finger picking to fiery electric leads with ease. Pete and bassist Tim Vendt found a common vision; create a band that would be a vehicle for their faith, their thoughts and their art, but avoid the pigeonhole of being a "Christian band". Spiritual themes and Christian perspectives are strong elements in what they do, but Tim and Pete quickly realized that preaching to the choir wasn't their path. A good song is a good song, and everyone feels the same pain, so why not just write what you feel? Let the music do the talking, and write about the things we can all relate to became their mantra. Tim Vendt works the fret board of his four and five-string basses with experienced hands. His movements and expression are effortless, timeless and without blemish, a true artist and consummate musician. From the Funk Brothers to Jaco, Tim wraps it all together and lays the tracks that drive the train. Joe Cadrette turned the duo into a trio. Having searched for musicians with a similar passion in music and faith, Joe found a common vision with Pete and Tim. Joe is gifted with the rare ability to analyze a tune using a great capacity to know when to summon the rock-hard beat work of John Bonham and when to fire up the subtle complexities of Stuart Copeland. Joe has shared the stage with hit songwriter Bryan McComas, (99.9% Sure (I Haven't Been Here Before), Cub Coda of Brownsville Station (Smokin in the Boys Room), and hit songwriter Thom Shepherd. Together they make a mighty fine noise.
