Serenata Road Recordings
The Serenata Road Recordings took place in a humble recording studio in Santa Cruz, California after Ashley Lloyd had taken her friend Adam Haverstock up on the offer of recording some of her music. 3 years later the Ashley Lloyd situation continues. A now resident in Northern California, Ashley has braved the frigid waters of Santa Cruz, and immersed herself in song and sea. Teaming up with guitar virtuoso, Ron Work, Lovely Lisa Lady Bass, and other musical friends, when playing out, they have developed the title, 'the Ashley Lloyd Situation.' Ashley Lloyd has been seen for her world ranked accomplishments in women's professional longboard surfing, showing grace of board and spirit in her unique soulful way . Today, the focus of her talents is shifting more and more towards the music she creates, perking ears that cross her path. Ashley's roots from the beach started her love of performing live with various blues and surf bands. She began songwriting and playing solo performances with her own tunes. Sculpting a fuller sound, she is now working with a group of musicians with whom she will be recording her new album this Fall. While Ashley has a style of her own, her voice has the sultry soulfulness and intriguing creativity of Billie Holiday, Ani Di Franco, and Sarah Vaughan. Her music transcends a timeless quality of soulful, oceanic, folk, back porch groove, that simply brings good feeling to those listening. You can recognize the soul of her being through her music, which brings a spontaneous unfiltered, smile to one's face. 'Surfing, shaping, singing, songwriting.... Ashley Lloyd does the lot, and all at pro level no less! In the same way that Jack Johnson's music reached ears around the globe when he started out, Ashley's self-titled solo album is now doing the rounds with traveling surfers everywhere.' Pacific Longboarder Magazine 'Ashley Lloyd has the unique talent of bringing the listener in.... one becomes immediately immersed in her soulful, diverse, original, and pure sound. Her breadth and range have one listening to her songs again and again. She continuously amazes my ears with melody and lyric, food for the creative spirit. Oh yeah, ... then she'll go out surfing later, take off on a big wave, and pull enough manuevers to make one shake their head in disbelief. Her beauty and grace shine through it all . That is Ashley Lloyd: her music and surfing are the metaphor for each other.' Girl in the Curl, KPIG radio.
