Asher Quinn (Asha) is one of the few artists to emerge from the predominantly instrumental new-age genre as a singer writing vocal material on some of his new-age albums. Throughout the 1990's and into the new millenium he composed and recorded an exceptionally beautiful body of deeply intimate and spiritual love-songs, which somehow manage to be both intensely personal and yet universal at the same time. The devotional purity of the title track, especially, has been widely acclaimed. One fan wrote: 'Not since Peter Gabriel's 'Passion' has any artist's work touched me the way Asher's does.' 'This Love' is a digitally re-mastered and edited compilation of previously released tracks, which include a delightfully faithful rendition of 'Greensleeves' and an unusual yet deeply moving version of 'Amazing grace'. The super-romantic 'Come away, come away' has been abbreviated from the original epic eighteen minutes, but still sparkles at half that length, and the delicately sacred 'Gloria' is utterly transcendental! Although Christian themes inform the compositions... like the intoxicatingly beautiful 'Gypsy Madonna'... The new-age angle is more to do with a one-world philosophy that underpins the writing, than any declaration of a particular faith. This is spiritually inspired music, breathtakingly beautiful at times. Asher's voice is disarmingly tender, too, as if he is singing just for you!
