Last One Standing
Aryn Michelle Releases $50,000 Crowd-Funded Album Dallas, August 2011- Aryn Michelle, an indie do-it-herself pop singer/songwriter and DFW native, raised $50,000 solely through fan support to record her upcoming album, and that album has arrived. Fans from around the globe invested in Aryn's music through the crowd-funding website SellaBand.com. Her album, "Last One Standing" which releases October 4th, 2011 is a testament to the ways in which the music and arts industries continue to change. As a pioneer in new ways to proliferate the arts, Aryn is excited to share the work her fans have enabled her to produce. Says Aryn, "Having the freedom to create, unbound by a record label and aided by the love and support of people who believe in you, is the ideal environment for a growing musician." She is the first Texan to raise $50,000 via SellaBand, and one of only a handful of American artists to complete the fundraising. Aryn Michelle taught herself piano and guitar and began writing songs at the age of 15. After formal music training at Southwestern University and the Berklee College of Music, she released her debut album, Lockless Heart, in 2009. Aryn was selected as a regional finalist for the 2009 and 2011 Mountain Stage NewSong Festival, was invited to represent the TUNE campaign, was TexasCSA's 2010 Songwriter of the Year, and was a top ten finalist in the 2011 Folgers' National Jingle Writing Contest.
