Christmas Carols from the Harp
Anne Meredith Frey began taking harp lessons at the age of 10. Growing up in Atlanta, Georgia, Anne studied with Judith Beattie-Ryan, the principal harpist of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra for many years. She performed with the Atlanta Youth Symphony Orchestra as well as other community orchestras. Anne attended Baylor University in Waco, TX and received a Bachelor of Music in Harp Performance in 1987. Anne received a Masters in Arts Management from The American University in Washington, D.C. in 1990. Anne has worked in development at the following institutions: High Museum of Art, Atlanta, GA; Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Dallas, TX; Musee Carnevalet, Paris, France. Currently, Anne Meredith Frey lives in Memphis, Tennessee and plays the harp for churches, civic organizations, hospitals, etc., and has performed with the Germantown Symphony. Anne then brought her harp to Kenya, East Africa where she lived with her husband for two years. During their time in Africa, Anne performed on the harp in rural churches and taught harp lessons to children at Rift Valley Academy. Anne released her first recording in 2000 - Hymns from the Harp. Her second recording was released in 2002 - Christmas Carols from the Harp. The next CD to be released will be children's praise songs for bedtime. Anne has written many songs as well and will be recording those in the future. Anne is married to Ernie Frey, an excellent speaker and teacher of the Bible and other related fields. They have two girls.
