Angela Sheik had two goals for her 2009 demo EP, Pappachappa: 'I wanted it to make me dance. I wanted it to make me cry.' Her 8-track demo, full of longing lyrics and backed by breaky, upbeat grooves, does just that. Her warm, atmospheric intros and shy insights reflect the breadth of a beautiful human spirit. The sound is mainly driven by keyboard and female vocals, but with constant electronic twists and turns. Imagine Regina Spektor rocking out to Radiohead, or Ingrid Michaelson doing an album with Moby.
