Hello! My name is Alison Scott. My band and I are on a mission to write, play, and sing music with soul. We've been having a lot of fun lately; opening for Bon Jovi, Boz Scaggs, Marc Cohn, Chris Isaak, and Nanci Griffith. We've been selling out local shows at venues like The Varsity, The Fine Line, The Guthrie, and the Dakota Jazz Club (which we've sold out the last 6 times we've played there!). How did it all start? I've been studying and playing music my whole life; first piano, and then classical music, opera, music theater, and jazz. Now, it's turned into something new... something that's mine. Growing up, the Minneapolis music scene was the perfect place for me start, because the pond isn't too big or too small (but it's frozen over half the year regardless). My band and I are happy to call this city our home. I really don't think people outside of this area understand all that it has to offer until they come here. Our third record, "Chinese Whispers," is a great leap forward. It's set to release on September, 11, 2010. The album is a mix of pop, rock, R&B, and a little taste of hip-hop; all sewn together with soul. I'm proud of this album, and it has been great having such a talented band to help with it. I've been working with triple platinum writer/producer/guitarist Kevin Bowe (Paul Westerberg, Etta James, Johnny Lang), as well as drummer Peter Anderson (Polara, Honeydogs), and bassist Steve Price (Rex Daisy). We're eager to hit the road this fall (and I'm betting the road will hit back). We want to win people over - one by one - and we're ready to work hard for it.
