SGT. Jason Swiger (The Silence Screams)
My husband, Mike, was in Viet Nam. While he was in combat, I wrote, ' Soldier's Reverie'. When 9/11 happened, we all asked,' Where was God?' My song, ' One Voice' is my answer. When Jason was killed, I couldn't write for three years. His song was born abour 6 months ago. My other son-in-law committed suicide 7 months after Jason died. My daughters were in pain. I realized we all are ' wounded birds' trying to learn how to fly, again. Hence, 'Wounded Birds' We are friends w wounded warriors. One shared his nightmares with me. He is on a lot of drugs. 'Embrace the Pain' was written to help people (wounded warriors mostly) to get beyond the pain and nightmares to the sun shining. We have to live through whatever trauma we have gone through and help people take the same healing journey. 'While You Are Away' is a wife singing that she is longing for her spouse. 'Keep The Home Fires Burning' recognizes the sacrifices that military families make. Thank all of you who serve and are sharing your spouses and family members with us to make the world a safer place. We love our military.
