Zarzuela is a Spanish music genre that incorporates operatic and popular song and dances. The name derives from the Palacio de la Zarzuela near Madrid, where this type of musical fare was first performed for the court. This 20 track compilation features historic recordings from some of Spain's most famous performers including Jose Carreras, Teresa Berganza, Francisco Kraus and the Spanish Chamber Orchestra.
