Charanga Con Funky(Alliance Mod, Manufactured on Demand)
Product Notes
Orquesta Reve has held a long and important role in the history of contemporary Cuban music. Founded in 1956 by Elio Reve Matos, the Cuban percussionist known as the father of "changui" - a style of music that incorporates Spanish style guitar and vocals with Afro-Cuban rhythms originated in the eastern region of Guantanamo province. Changui is considered the forerunner of "son montuno," the most popular form of Cuban music performed today. Orquesta Reve modernized this sound by adding certain elements of the Charanga style orchestra, bringing violins and trombones into the mix. This classic album, "Charanga Con Funky," recorded in the late 1960's, represents Orquesta Reve at their very best. All selections newly remastered
