Product notities

'Lived That Song Before' is the debut CD by Texas singer/songwriter Aaron Wendt. It was recorded and produced at White Cat Studios which is run by Jack Saunders in Houston. The CD has eleven tracks, all of which were written Aaron, except for 'Honky Tonks, Nightclubs, Bars and Dives,' which was written by Mike Hodges (aka Buck Stonebroke.) There is a mix of musical styles from drinkin', western swing, bluegrass, cowboy, honky-tonk, Tejano/conjunto and even folk on the disc. Most call it 'Pure Texas Music.' Others just call it fun. Jack Saunders has the most presence on the collection. He's toured with Ray Wylie Hubbard, Shake Russell, and has worked with many artists both locally and nationally. He plays bass, acoustic and electric guitar, mandolin, dobro and does some harmonies. Plus, he's the recording engineer and coproducer. Probably the most famous musician on the album is Herb Remington. Herb toured and recorded with Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys during their heyday. Rick Richards plays drums on 10 songs, as well as maracas on one of them. Rick records and tours with Slaid Cleaves, among others. He has worked extensively with Ray Hubbard and is an excellent studio worker with no telling how many albums under his belt. Ricky Davis is currently performing and recording with his fiance Miss Leslie (and the Juke Jointers.) Ricky toured and recorded with Dale Watson and has played on literally hundreds of albums. Allen Huff is an accordion and keyboard player currently working with Roger Creager and was part of Doug Supernaw's band when they played the Astrodome a few years back. He plays on two of the songs. Up-and-coming Texas singer/songwriter Lesile Krafka sings harmonies on a couple of songs. Houston's long-time keyboardist Patrick Brennan plays piano on 'Honky Tonks.' Texas favorite guitarist Wayne Wilkerson plays on one with his friend/band member Herb Remington. Aaron's band is called Tuna Sin (say 'tune us in.') They mostly perform as a trio or four-piece combo, and always try to use musicians who sing lead as well as back-up. Over the past six years, the band has used many musicians, and many of those worked on this album. The core of the trio band is Buck Stonebroke and Joe Kirkpatrick. Joe plays acoustic lead guitar on a couple of songs. Buck plays bass and sings harmonies on six cuts. Billy Curtis, currently from Austin, plays fiddle and mandolin on seven songs. Mike Stroup plays rhythm guitar on 'Honky Tonks.' Ron Rebstock plays guitar on one and banjo on another. Maddie Dietrich plays bass violin with a bow on one song. Ron R's wife Reta Rebstock, a recording artist by her own right, sings on the duet track 'That's Your Memory.' Aaron's musical influences range from big bands, surf-rock, sixties and seventies rock, folk, progressive/outlaw country, country, western, western swing and a few in-betweens. He has always preferred the original singer/songwriter lyrical works as opposed to the song hierarchy dictated by the radio and music industry conglomerates. His career in the printing business has allowed him to work extensively with words on a daily basis. This collection of his original songs demonstrates his love and craftsmanship of said words, with his ability to blend his musical influences into songs you most certainly will enjoy and appreciate.
