The Shangri-Las recorded two of the finest moments of pop magic. 'Remember (Walkin' In The Sand)', a top five American and top twenty British hit, came complete with sound effects of seagulls and waves crashing onto a shore. The follow-up, 'Leader Of The Pack' was even more memorable, launching a spate of 'death discs' in its wake. The story of a leather-clad biker who dies in a motorcycle accident, it topped the American charts and has been a British hit on no fewer than three occasions, peaking at number three in 1972. This album also features 'I Can Never Go Home Anymore', their only other American top ten hit.
