Dream It Up
Who is 45HiGH? 'Give me something real, something that will affect me, some inspiration' - "On TV" These lyrics reveal the kind of music that is about to be unleashed onto the world by NYC pop/rock band 45HiGH. Their debut release 'Dream It Up,' co-produced and mixed by David Seitz (The Black Crowes, Suzanne Vega), is just the beginning of great albums to come. 45HiGH's vision was born when songwriters Pete Giambalvo (voc) and Andreas Altmann (guitar) auditioned drummer Donovan Pyle in a rehearsal studio in NYC. Their jams created the mission statement 'On TV,' the sincere 'Hung Up on You,' and the Police-influenced 'My Addiction.' Inspired by creative momentum they then added guitarist Rik Cavazos, whose hard rock influence further fueled the arena-sized vision of 45HiGH. This is a group of eclectic minds with various influences whose approach to songwriting remains simple: 'Rock music is a visceral experience so we try not to get too heady about it," says Pete. 'Feel is the most important thing to us.' Front-man Pete Giambalvo's powerful voice soars effortlessly over a tapestry of catchy guitar riffs and heavy grooves. These ingredients invite the listeners to delve beneath the surface and discover a subtle sophistication. Pete explains, "We grew up listening to bands like The Beatles, The Police, STP and Cheap Trick. Their music is so dynamic and timeless. That's the kind of music we aspire to create." Playing reputable New York City venues such as Snitch and Crash Mansion, one can see that their brand of rock is attracting an ever-growing following. 'Everywhere we play, people are taken aback by what they've just witnessed," says Andreas. 'It's actually kind of fun to be in the position that we are in. It's nice to have that mystique about us.' 45HiGH is a sonic explosion; a band that is real, that affects, and one that inspires.
