Why "Puddles"? When I first started writing for this album I thought it would be directed at walking by faith and not by sight. As time progressed it seemed to change direction slightly. The songs I was writing were dealing with pain, guilt, loneliness, depression, and other common themes we all deal with. It was about this time when I heard the phrase, "every path has it's puddle". That phrase has stuck with me. In the end this album is about walking by faith, and more specifically learning to have faith in the midst of hard circumstances. I stress the importance of our choices in life and the consequences. I think the best way for me to sum it up is... "Puddles", because in life we all experience times that are challenging and painful. Sometimes we face "puddles" from our own mistakes. When I was younger and would encounter a puddle I would always run and try to jump right over it. I figured there was no point in walking around it. Yet there were so many times where I misjudged the size and landed right in it. It was my actions that landed me in that puddle. Other times, the hardships come because of others decisions. There is no choice, if I am going to get to my destination, then I am going to get wet. These are the times I learn to suffer for Christ and, like him, endure. This album tells stories about making bad choices, landing in the middle of a puddle, and figuring.
