1000 Masterworks: Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna
Opened in 1891 to house the opulent works belonging to the Hapsburg imperial family, the Kunsthistoriches Museum in Vienna is still considered one of the most important art museums worldwide. Works from Egypt to the Occident span 7,000 years and yet can be found beneath one roof. The centerpiece of the building is the first-class painting gallery which houses numerous masterpieces from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. The works introduced here are especially notable for their considerable reputation and variation.
